لکچر درباره خرافات هست Superstition که البته فردا سعی میکنم براتون متن لکچر رو بزارم که شما هم برید حالشو ببرید.

According to the writer Raymond Lamont Brown: "Superstition is a belief, or system of beliefs, by which almost religious veneration is attached to things mostly secular; a parody of religious faith in which there is belief in an occult or magic connection."
Another way to put it is that superstition is an irrational or nonscientific belief in the existence of certain powers operant in the world, with positive or ill (usually ill) effects, and therefore a concomitant belief in the counter-effects of amulets, tokens and such, and the power of certain actions (or avoidance of some actions, such as not walking under a ladder) to diminish or deflect these ill effects and/or to promote the positive influence (i.e. crossing one's fingers, or rubbing a beneficent stone, for good luck) of these indeterminate and usually unnamed powers.

The Black Cat: Superstition and Beliefs

Back arched, fur on end, eyes glowing, lip curled, hissing, claws drawn, ready to pounce on the first thing to cross its path: The black cat throuout history has been blamed for most of the wrongs of the world, from blasphemy to the plague.
Even today, black cats conjure up images of witchcraft and magic tales. Edgar Allan Poe wrote about one and Hollywood has made movies about them. There is even a TV sitcom, "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch," which features a very sarcastic "talking" black cat named Salem.
For thousands of years, black cats have been regarded as mysterious creatures with supernatural powers and were associated with witches and even death. It was believed that witches could change into cats; in fact, it is believed they could make that change nine times. Some believe this to be the origin of the belief that cats have nine lives.
There are many superstitions associated with cats, partly because the cat has lived alongside humans for thousands of years. Superstitions centering around the black cat are some of the most well-known and popular superstitions today.
Will you worry the next time a black cat crosses your path?
It may depend on where you live in the world. In Britain and Japan, having a black cat cross your path, is considered good luck, whereas if you live in the USA or several European countries, it is bad luck to have a black cat walk by.

Superstitions in religion


We muslims don’t believe that there is superstition in our religion so this is just an article from a nonmuslim and we can deny it because we have our proofs.
Allah created the seven heavens, the earth and the entire universe in six days!
In the beginning, on a Sunday, Allah created His Supreme throne and all the objects surrounding it. On Monday He created the seven heavens; on Tuesday, He created the seven layers of the earth; on Wednesday, the dark empty space, on Thursday, He made all the objects between heaven and earth; then on Friday He created the Moon, the Sun, the stars, the planets and the satellites. Having had done all these in six days Allah decided to take a rest on Saturday, the seventh day. [I wonder why Allah preferred to take a break on the Saturday, the Sabbath day of the Kafirs and not on a Friday, which is the Holiday for the believers.]



Evil eye


The evil eye is the name for a sickness transmitted—usually without intention – by someone who is envious,jealous or covetous. It is also called the invidious eye.
In farsi it is bla band ( the eye of evil)
The evil eye belief is that a person—otherwise not malefic in any way – can harm you, your children, your livestock, or your fruit trees, by looking at them with envy and praising them.
In other words, the effect of the evil eye is misfortunate , but the person who gives the evil eye is not necessarily an evil person.

In traditional Mexican and central American culture, babies and young children are often the victims of the evil eye.

In iran the seeds of Aspand are burned on charcoal, where they explode with little popping noises , releasing a fragrant smoke that is wafted around the head of those afflicted by or exposed to the gaze of strangers. As this is done , an ancient Zoroastrian prayer is rexited agains Bla Band. This prayer is said by muslims as well as by Zoroastrians in region where Aspand is utilized against the evil eye.
In Persian various terms can be found, depending on the region on the region. In iran, people use Cesm Zaxm ( prpnounced Chesm Zakhm ) which means harm cause by eye.
